How I Pivoted from Corporate to Working for Myself using Astrology

There comes a time in some of our lives when you just can’t do it anymore.

That feeling crept in for me in early 2024. I had spent five years in a corporate ‘dream role’. I had international travel, free luxury clothing, and a flexible schedule that worked well with my lifestyle. On paper, everything looked perfect. But internally, something felt off. My intuition was strong and screaming at me…

something.

isn’t.

right.

And just in case I wasn’t paying attention, life kept nudging me harder. I was hit with parking fines, speeding fines, surprise bills, and eventually mounting debt. How could I be a single woman in my twenties with a well-paying job and still be living paycheque to paycheque?

On top of the financial stress, there was pressure from those around me who couldn’t understand why I felt so unhappy in a job that seemed so ideal. Fair enough…

The pressure to love my life while feeling disconnected from it became unbearable. I handed in my resignation and almost took it back the next day. Walking away from something so stable brought up intense guilt. It felt like I was sabotaging a loving relationship for no clear reason. But the truth was, stability was no longer enough.

Starting over is a privilege, and I do not take that lightly. Not everyone has the option to leave a job without another income lined up. But for those who do, not everyone finds the courage to take that leap. Choosing change does not mean you have failed. It means you are willing to trust your intuition and believe that something better is possible.

I didn’t quit on a whim. I needed a clear reason, something beyond a gut feeling. I had no income lined up, so I had to be smart. That is when I turned to my birth chart. Leaving a corporate job to find your purpose requires action and clarity. Your natal chart holds many clues to discovering your career path and life purpose, something I cover in depth during my 1:1 Career and Life Purpose Call.

I want to highlight three key areas that reveal your true direction:

The 10th House – This house governs career, reputation, public image, long-term legacy, aspirations, responsibilities, and authority.

Saturn – Saturn shows where you hold the most responsibility, the lessons you must learn, how you mature, and your relationship with authority.

The North Node – The North Node reveals your highest potential, your life purpose, and the path to personal growth. It also represents your biggest resistance because it often feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar.

When I examined these parts of my chart and connected them, combining what the planets say, how the signs express them, and where they fall in the houses, the story became clear. (I teach this framework in my Birth Chart Basics e-book.)

I remember sitting in my apartment with my chart spread out on the table. I had circled “Aquarius in the 10th House” three times before the message hit me: “You are here to break the mould, not fit into it.” It struck me. All the tension, guilt, confusion, and pressure suddenly made sense.

I was never meant to create a legacy in my current career. My purpose was to challenge social norms, be the black sheep, and lead an unconventional life. By working 1:1 with clients, I could bring balance and peace (my Libra North Node) to help others on their self-growth journey, supported by Saturn in the 11th and 12th Houses.

Not by holding onto a traditional, stable corporate job, which my Taurus Rising and Capricorn Sun felt safe doing. Looking at my chart showed me I was following a path that was never truly mine. This astrological framework validated my desire for change and proved my intuition was right from the start.

For a logical, pragmatic Capricorn like me, I needed that foundation (the astrological strategy I create and use to help women today) to finally realise this truth.

This Astrological Strategic Framework that I swear by for realising purpose did not form overnight. It requires undergoing many mindset shifts, testing and learning, rewiring neural patterns, reviewing daily habits, becoming financially prepared, and putting strategic plans in place to feel truly ‘tranquillo’ making big changes. (There is no English word that fully captures this feeling, so I use the Italian word ‘tranquillo’, which could mean feeling calm and at ease.)

Two simple shifts you can start today to make a career pivot possible are journaling daily and tracking the moon.

Knowing where the moon is in the sky each day, its sign and phase (which I share on my Instagram Stories) helps you tune into planetary energy. This practice increases your self-awareness and opens you up to receiving insights about your true purpose when they arrive.

Journaling daily is essential, especially if you are interested in astrology but do not yet track your own experiences. If you are not a data collector, journaller, Instagram poster, scrapbooker, avid photo taker, or record keeper in some way, you need to start. Astrology is about pattern recognition. Observe your life, write it down, and watch the timing unfold.

One of the scariest things about changing careers is feeling like you wasted years building skills that no longer seem transferable. I spent almost ten years building a corporate career. How could I transfer those skills if I was never meant to fit into a traditional role? I soon realised that by repackaging my soft skills to support my astrology business, none of that time was wasted. My corporate career was training for when I would discover my true aspirations.

I still use structure, strategy, and storytelling just as before, but now I have evolved and reframed them to serve a client-based service. My birth chart showed me this was all part of my growth journey. The key question I had to ask myself was, “How can I shift these skills to fit my new business?”

I do feel like my entire collection of life experiences have led me to this moment, where I am finally using all my past skills to support my North Node, my true purpose. It’s okay to outgrow a path that once felt perfect. We never start a journey thinking it will be the wrong fit.

For a long time, my Capricorn Sun wanted nothing more than to climb the ladder. It wasn’t until I grew, matured, and learned more about myself that I realised it wasn’t the right path. You are allowed to want more, even when nothing is technically wrong.

Life rarely unfolds exactly how we want, and we need to learn to sit with the discomfort of not knowing what comes next. Astrology is a tool for those of us who feel unsafe in uncertainty. It offers comfort and guidance grounded in real insight. Be pragmatic about it. Astrology is real and factual, not woo.

Have backup plans, build financial cushions, and stay open to pivoting. This grounded approach lets you move forward with confidence even when the path ahead is unclear.

If you’re thinking about pivoting your career, here are your first steps:

  1. Get curious about your discomfort. Don’t push it down. Sit with it, lean into it, and learn to listen. What is it trying to tell you? What feels natural versus forced? Journal about this every day until you have a breakthrough.
  2. Learn about your birth chart and start with your Big Three: Sun, Moon, and Rising signs. Then explore your 10th House, Saturn, and North Node. You can learn easily with my Birth Chart Basics e-book for just $10 AUD.
  3. Track energy and clarity through the moon cycle. I share daily updates on my Instagram stories so there is no excuse to miss it.
  4. Take one small risk. Make one tiny step toward what you think could be your purpose. Then assess. What happened? How did it make you feel? Did anything shift inside you?
  5. When you are ready to move from guesswork to strategy, book a 1:1 Career and Life Purpose Astrological Strategy Call with me.

I didn’t know what was next, I just knew I couldn’t stay.

I wasn’t broken. I was just done pretending. For anyone feeling stuck or lost in their career, unsure of the next step, this is the moment to pause and reflect. Your birth chart holds the keys to uncovering your true life purpose, guiding you through uncertainty and career transitions with clarity and confidence.

If you’re in that place too, feeling ready for change but unsure where to start, be open to beginning with your chart. Discover how astrology can reveal your unique path and help you make empowered decisions for your career and life purpose.
